Message from The ANA Patriot Squadron

The ANA Patriot Squadron, a group dedicated to preserving the memory and heritage of NAS South Weymouth and NAS Squantum, will host a special Memorial Day observance at the Shea Memorial Grove on Shea Memorial Drive at the SouthField Development (former NAS South Weymouth) in Weymouth, Massachusetts on Saturday May 28, 2011. The event, which features the Afghan/Iraq Moving Memorial Wall sponsored by Yarmouth Moose Lodge #2270 and the \"Rolling Thunder\" motorcycle club sponsored by Braintree Moose Lodge #413, will run from 9 AM to 3 PM. The ANA Patriot Squadron will have the Shea Field Naval Aviation Historical Museum open for visitors free of charge throughout the day. Special commemorative NAS South Weymouth shirts and caps will be available while supplies last. Veterans and active duty military personnel are encouraged to wear their uniforms. "I run a website and have been tracking the final days of the SWNAS and other military areas around SE MA. It's great to start hearing from people. Unfortunately, all of my pictures and other military stuff was destroyed when my basement flooded, so I don't have and photos or anything to share. I think I still have the infamous "Bougue Field" video. I haven't the slightest idea how to get it on the web though.

My name is Sean Lyons. I was in the avionics shop from 1987 to 1992. I really enjoyed my time with HML-771, and I got to work with some great people. I thought this website might be a good idea.
